Couldnt connect to any wifi spots until I uninstalled and logged on manually.

Unreliable and useless support

Shows you where they are but connecting to them proves useless. Now the map does not show when using cell data.

I absolutely love Boingo, but Im surprised they could even write this app to be this random in nature. It most of the time thinks youre still logged in to a network, while the network has really kicked you out, requiring a kill/restart of the app to be useful again. It occasionally fail to log in to a network until the app is force-restarted. Still, it works most of the time once you get used to the quirks and Boingo access is very convenient. But I really wish theyd fix it to recognise when youre properly logged in and when youre not. Update: newest version can no longer log on to my local ATT wifi, so I can no longer justify giving it more than a single star, even if it could log on to other boingo networks (something I havent tried). Do these people not know about regression testing? Update 2: february update still broken.

It appears to be just a simple app that overlays wifi access points on a map. Except the functionality to actually show access points appears to be missing, so its just a map. Really?!?!?

Terrible app gets worse. Dont upgrade unless youre itching for less functionality @ higher resolution.

Ive had this app for years and the only place it has ever worked for me is the Tokyo airport. But the worst just happened and I uninstalled it. The app overrode the free wifi at a hotel near an airport - trying to get me to pay, I am sure. Dont bother with it.

App used to work most (but not all) of the time. Now is mostly doesnt work. I tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling too and that didnt help. Worse, it seems to now prevent my device from even connecting to most Boingo hotspots, so I cant even log in another way (such as when I am a guest in a hotel and could gain access via my hotel registration info). Please fix this mess, and quickly!!!

I tried using the app on a trip to London. I launched it once and it only showed me a map of the US. When I panned over to Great Britain, it didnt show any hotspots. In subsequent attempts to launch the app, it appeared to lock up at the Boingo logo screen. I kept being unable to log into the free Wi-Fi networks around me, despite turning Wi-Fi on and off and doing hard resets on the phone, until I uninstalled the app. I thought maybe the app got corrupted during installation, but in reading the other reviews, my experience sounds pretty typical.

Im into my third week of a one-year Global commitment and still have never connected using my iPhone. It will go through all the motions and display, briefly, that Im connected. That lasts a second or two, then it drops. So far, its been a complete waste of time, money, and battery life.

Its a terrible app! Be deleting it I finally managed to access Boingo networks. Before it would hijack the login process trying to "log me in automatically". After I finally deleted it I can now login with my username and password as I normally would. Boingo should remove the app its useless and in fact counterproductive. Cant believe they are so useless they cant even build a proper app

It is troubling that Apple is becoming complacent in matters of quality control. Like it or not, a non-functioning app downloaded from Apple is viewed as an, "Apple problem."

Review Updated 3/6/16. The first Jan 2016 app broke the app somehow and subsequent updates dont allow me to connect to the AT&T hotspots with a splash screen that I was previously able to connect to using the app. I fail to connect on both a 6s and 6s+. iOS 9.2.1

App does not work 90% off the time. Network will show saying "use Boingo here" but alas, connections rarely work.

No internet connection on Bainbridge Ferry. Neither internet nor radio connection on Coleman Dock.

App wrongly says Wifi not available even though both Wifi and Cellular are turned on and working well. Happened after last update!

Always disconnects, doesnt allow me to connect to AT&T hotspots. I can spend 15 - 30 min just trying to connect in a hotel room. I spend way too much time trying to connect when I supposedly have to only click "connect now" button. Horrible app, especially with the prices they charge.

After several repeated tries, and advice from support to delete and reinstall, I have never been able to connect in several places marked as Boingo hotspots. The app keeps giving me the "Whoops! Sorry we couldnt get you connected" screen. Whoops, Boingo: your app doesnt work. Do not subscribe to Boingo until they fix this!

Dont waste your time. Doesnt work out of the gate.
