The service is great but not the app! It is hard to connect with it and they have not fixed that since a long time

Boingo is a great service. However, when I installed this app on my iPhone 6s, it actually seems to block the Boingo wifi network. Phone would say connected in Wifi settings, but no internet and no wifi icon at the top. Uninstalled the app, and everything worked great.

Current version of the app doesnt allow connection to any bongo hotspots in most US Airports, including ORD. So much for the AMEX benefit. Zero stars.

App does not work. Will not sign in to boing I sites. Worked until a few updates ago. Boing I tells you to delete and reinstall. Still does not work. Dont waste your time.

They take a monthly fee but provide an app that connects perhaps 5 percent of the time so you cannot in any way depend on it

As mentioned by many others this app is not worth downloading as it just doesnt work.

This app was never the UX role model, but each version gets worse and worse. It sees the hotspots but you have about the same chance as connecting as hitting the lottery. Boingo should be embarrassed. Last time I checked roaming mobile connectivity is their business.

Just the pits: the workflow (having to supposedly available identify access points in Settings > wifi, then swap to this app), to implementation (app says enable location services even when thats already set to allow always; or app doesnt show connect button despite you selecting a Boingo network in Settings; or the Connect button failing to connect you; or you being presented with a splash authentication screen or a password dialog in Settings before you even have a chance to swap to the app), its the worst paid service and accompanying app Ive ever seen. Add to that their p-s-poor customer service (only link to service in the app is by email -- well, duh, Im not online yet! And even if you do email, all you get is an auto reply; if you do track down their phone support number theyre similarly useless as they stumble to identify your account and have no way of knowing where in the world you are or which networks youre trying to connect to -- any developer worth anything would have figured out that the app should have a troubleshooting button that gathers GPS position, logs of the recent networks youd tried to connect to in the last 10 minutes, say, and then send that to Boungo, then give you a unique support ID you could you could reference when you call or chat, so theyd already have all the technical info they need.)

Install this app and your wifi wont work anymore at hotels and other public locations that also happen to be part of Boingo. The supposed auto-login feature is so broken it prevents you even from manually logging in at places that require it. Had to delete to get wifi working again.

Latest update. FREE Wi-Fi at hotels where you just need to click through the login screen doesnt work if you have this app installed on your iPhone. Without it installed you immediately get the login page. With it installed you see the Boingo available pop down and then nothing. And launching the app to login just gives you errors. Worse than useless. Im sitting in a hotel by the airport. App shows my location. List? Nothing. Login on the website and I see a lot of access points--mostly just free stuff you could get without paying Boingo. But anyway none of that shows in the app. None.

What a mess. Used to work well, but now not at all. Tells me boingo wifi is available but when I try to connect it always fails. Then, it blocks me from accessing the hotspot any other way. Useless. Had to delete the app.

Wow... Can someone at least test the app before releasing it ? You can even create an account. The same message keep popping out. Unable to create account. But they are quick to charge your iTunes account. Complete disappointment.

This app does not work. In fact it seems to block other wifi access. I had to uninstall to get on a hotel wifi because it kept wanting me to open the app to sign in but when you open the app - nothing. I got boingo as a credit card benefit. Over a year now and it has one time out of hundreds. Worthless service. I certainly would never purchase the service.

This app is bizarre. Not really necessary to use the service and in fact just complicates things. Even using it to find the Boingo hotspots is not possible because you need an (active) internet connection to load the map/DB. Also I can confirm that it does do *something* with the wifi settings. After having issues connecting to some hotel (and Boingo!) networks, I removed the app and have been able to connect immediately. Dont bother with this app. At best, it serves no purpose best, and at worst, it breaks/blocks the wifi functionality.

Damnit, shouldnt havent upgraded. The latest version simply doesnt work. Please fix.

On my first trip to Thailand a couple years ago Boingo worked perfectly. I was able to get service everywhere. This past month I purchased service and wasnt able to get service a single time while oversees. Whatever they did to it totally ruined it. I want a refund or to cancel my subscription.

I finally dumped this app. Does not work. I used it successfully only once in last 3 years! Absolutely terrible.

This app never connected me to the wifi. And after uninstall this app, yes! connected!

..American Express needs to re-evaluate its relationship with Boingo!
