I tried to get it working with Torontos OneZone wifi, but regardless of what settings I played with, nada!

Rarely works

I bought this app during a trip in Dominican Republic. I was able to use the hotels wi-fi at a lot cheaper price than the hotels price! This app is complicated at the beginning. I begun by buying 1 month illimited access from iTunes (with the app). I turned off the wi-fi antenna from the phone. Rebooted my iPhone... Then I turned on the app... Waiting for it to request from me to log to a wi-fi network from the "settings" menu (from the iPhone, not the app! - not clear and badly explicated). Once connected, I returned into the app and confirmed I wanted to "connect". It worked superbly. I think many bad comments here are related to the fact the app was not in function before trying to connect to the SSID wi-fi network.

This is the most useless app ive ever downloaded. It never worked properly, i kept getting unable to connect messages, and its quite expensive to subscribe. Not user friendly at all; took ages plus a call to the support line to figure out how to cancel the subscription. Not worth it.

I paid for faster speed and all I get is one bar and signal keeps dropping, what a waste of my hard earned money! Did not even get a receipt so I know what Im actually being charged.

Aug 2013: after using the app for a month I am convinced this app is pathetic. It has never connected automatically even once even though I have switched the option on. Even manually connecting it takes multiple tries. It keeps showing error that wifi hotspot is not selected even though it is. First of all auto login doesnt work even though I am loggied into the app. I always have to launch the application once; then ask it to connect. It gives and error message saying it is not able to. Then I have to kill the app, relaunch it and try connecting it again. In some case I have to repeat it multiple times to connect. I have tried it on my iPhone as well as iPad and in different airports in US and Canada. The experience is the same, which means bad. In Atlanta at the international terminal F near the food court, the signal was so week that it would not connect most of the time. Even when it does, it would drop off quickly. Not happy with this service at all. But I am going to keep it for few more weeks and see whether anything changes.

I downloaded Boingo with Apple apps. I was unable to create my account, I called Customer Service and they told me that I was supposed to be close, very close to the Hot Spots or I wouldnt get any signal, otherwise..., to cancel my account and get reimbursed! I sent three e-mails to the e-mail support, two days later, still waiting for some kind of help. Definitely, this is not worth it, more headaches and frustration than anything. Regards

It takes a bit of fiddling to log onto a hotspot the first time (try turning wifi off then on again), but after that it is seamless. It is great to have a map at your disposal. Some people complained about needing to be close to the hotspot, but that is location dependant and probably set by the retailer so you have to be in their (e.g. coffee shop) location to use it. I especially like that I can turn it off and on in my iTunes subscriptions, and can use it with all my devices.

Could not figure out how to work with this app. Location map does not work.

Still have to navigate advertisements even with app subscription Wifi service is No better with the app than without it!!!! Rarely strong enough signal

Careful, you will continue to be billed 8$ per month even after you uninstall the app and cancel the subscription.

Stay way from boingo doesnt work in most places like Vancouver , Calgary, Frankfurt , Warsaw , krakow , Seattle ... Dont use that service.
